abhyanga oil massage

This popular ayurvedic massage is seen as an essential part of an ayurvedic lifestyle. The full body massage provides a feeling of stability and warmth that is beneficial to all dosha types and promotes longevity and wellness.

Depending on whether you have a Vata, Pitta, or Kapha constitution our ayurvedic practitioner will prepare ayurvedic oils using medical herbs specific to a person’s dosha type. The warm oil is then applied from head to toe using long circular strokes towards the heart and organs of elimination. This technique helps loosen the toxins in the body in order for them to be properly eliminated. Proper absorption of the medicinal oils allows for a truly healing and relaxing experience.

About Ayurveda: Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning “the science of life and longevity”. It is the oldest system of health discipline in the world, first described in India about 5,000 years ago. It is an ancient wisdom of health and healing that emphasizes prevention. Ayurveda offers methods of nutrition, bodywork and energy through a holistic approach in the true sense of the word. It is the art of daily living in harmony with the laws of nature, a delicate balance between mind, body and consciousness that can only be achieved through awareness.
